Penni with the 470 class spinnaker.
The photo is taken by Ville Lindfors, the skipper of our safety boat during the one week race RAID Finland 2006 in the Gulf of Finland.
You can find more pictures from the Raid Finland 2006 archive http://www.kolumbus.fi/raidfinland/

3 boats capsized one windy day while we sailed Penni safely with no reefings but our "big" 470 jib hoisted !
But I have to confess, the wind from behind was really hard!

We reached the hull speed all the time and sometimes 7 knots. No possibilities to jibe.
The sea ran in from the tiller hole due to the stern wave.

Afterwards people came to us and said how envious they were – we seemed to just smoke cigars and were knitting while they had to fight all the time.

- Haven is a fast and safe boat!

Seppo,

Great pictures and great job!! Looks like it was fun. I'm glad to hear that the Haven held up so well. That's two high wind tales now showing the Haven to be a stable craft.

Hi Seppo,
can you give some more information about your spinnaker rig? I^m pondering about buying one.
