As a long-time cabinet builder, one of my motivations for a new project has always been the money that I would be saving by building the piece myself. For many sailer/woodworkers, building his/her own boat is a natural progression. I'm now at that point, but I'm having a hard time justifying this project (to myself and my wife) if it's going to cost me $17,000. For those of you that have completed the Haven, what did you end up spending?

Have you looked at Dan Nielsen's worksheets? I actually think I spent a bit more, but I don't regret a cent. The joy is in the building as well as the sailing.
