Alpha-II

Construction Continues...

Upper chine in place.

I ground the teeth off an old saw and glued heavy sand paper to one side to make a tool for assuring a good fit of the chines to the stem.
I have decided to notch the transom along with the transom frames rather than try to notch the frames only.

There is a PBS TV show called The Boat Shop which recently showed the fitting of a small electric trolling motor to the rudder of a smaller Gloucester dory.  I am considering the idea for this boat.  Does anyone have any comments?  How might it affect the sailing ability?
